About us
The creation of Taurai was driven by the desire to empower our young children with the tools they need to navigate their multicultural identity. We recognised that for our boys, learning Shona and connecting with their Zimbabwean culture was not going to come as naturally as it did to us, as they were born and, are currently being raised in the diaspora. This realisation has led us to understand that we have to be more intentional in our approach if we want our children to speak Shona.
Through providing language tools, we believe we can help bridge the gap between our children's current environment and the rich history that shaped their families. We are committed to creating resources and learning opportunities that support bilingualism and help our children maintain a deep connection to their roots, no matter where they may reside.
